    Beginning April 13, the Woodridge Public Library joins libraries nationwide in celebrating National Library Week, a time to highlight the value of libraries, librarians and library workers. During this week, the Library will be collecting brief stories and examples of how libraries have changed patron's lives. Take a minute to share your thoughts when visiting the Library.

  3. District 99 Student Art SHow at Library

    April 16 - April 30

    The annual Community High School District 99 student art show will take place at the Woodridge Public Library in April. It will open on April 16th and remain up for the rest of the month. Works in five categories are submitted by North and South High School students to judges at each school. From those entries, pieces are selected and displayed at the Library. A reception for members of the public to meet the student artists, their families, art faculty, and other representatives from District 99, will be held on April 16th, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Prize winners in each category will be announced at 6:30 p.m.

  4. YWCA Affordable Care Act Open Enrollment

    The YWCA Patterson & McDaniel Family Center is hosting an Affordable Care Act open enrollment event on Saturday April 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. YWCA is encouraging certain individuals to avoid IRS penalties of $95 per person by enrolling. Enrollment by March 31st is required for 2014 coverage. The YWCA is also seeking volunteers to be trained to assist with enrollment at these events, email

  5. Woodridge Lions Club Easter Egg Hunt

    The Woodridge Lions Club will host the 46th annual Lion Jerry Pech Memorial Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19th at Jefferson Junior High School, 7200 Janes Avenue in Woodridge, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Parents and children are encouraged to arrive at least 15 minutes early and to bring a basket or bag. More than 5,000 plastic eggs will be filled with candy and prizes, and separate areas for five different age groups will be sectioned off on the field for safety - including an area for children 2 years and under.

  9. Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

    The Woodridge Police Department is participating in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day which will take place on Saturday, April 26th, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Woodridge Police Department, One Plaza Drive, Woodridge. This is a great opportunity for those who missed the previous events, or who have subsequently accumulated unwanted, unused prescription drugs, to safely dispose of those medications.
