  1. Citizen Police Academy Now Accepting Applications Through December 15

    Interested in learning more about your local police department? Would you like to obtain a working knowledge of practices, policies, and procedures of a top law enforcement agency? The Woodridge Police Department is now accepting applications for the Citizen Police Academy through December 15th! The Citizen Police Academy is part of the Woodridge's Community Oriented Policing initiative, designed to reduce and prevent crime, as well as maintain partnerships within our community. The ten-week session is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 10th, 2018 with the classes meeting from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Applicants must live, work, or be associated with the Village of Woodridge. There is NO COST to anyone who participates in the academy.

  2. Donate to Toys for Tots at Village Hall

    December 8, All Day

    Since 1947, U.S. Marines have been looking after America's needy children at Christmas through their Toys for Tots program. Support the Toys for Tots program by donating a new, unwrapped toy (no stuffed animals). A drop-off box is located at Village Hall, and toys can be dropped off until December 15th at Noon. The toys will be donated to needy children in DuPage County. For more information, call John Sucansky at (630) 985-2620.

  3. Recycle Burnt Out Light Strands - Recycle Them at Village Hall or Public Works through March 16!

    Have a strand of lights that no longer works? Here's your solution! Starting, Monday, November 27th through March 16th, recycle your lights, extension, phone, and computer cords at the Woodridge Village Hall, 5 Plaza Dr., or Public Works building located at 1 Plaza Drive. Collection bins will be located in the lobby of each of these buildings, which are open during regular business hours - Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Village has partnered with Elgin Recycling to offer this free service to residents. Mini-lights, C7 or C9 lights, rope or LED lights, extension, phone, or computer cords are all eligible for recycling. Please - no CFL bulbs.

  4. Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting in Seven Bridges - December 8!

    The holiday season is about to begin in Seven Bridges (Main Street), on Friday, December 8th at 6:00 p.m., during the Holiday Celebration and Tree Lighting! Save the date for this annual tradition. Events include the Tree Lighting Ceremony with Mayor Gina Cunningham, pictures with Santa, caroling, and more!

  5. Neil Patrick Harris Visits Woodridge - December 8

    Anderson's Bookshops will host Neil Patrick Harris at Bobak's Signature Events on December 8th. This award-winning actor has created the magical first book in a new middle grade series with plenty of tricks up its sleeve! Titled The Magic Misfits, the book will be the topic of a question and answer session with Mr. Harris. Tickets to the event are available through Andersons Bookshop. Neil Patrick Harris is an accomplished actor, producer, director, host, author, husband, and a father of magical twins. Harris also served as President of the Academy of Magical Arts from 2011-2014. Known to many as Doogie Howser MD, his memoir Choose Your Own Autobiography was a New York Times Bestseller. The Magic Misfits is his middle grade debut.
