The Woodridge Public Library is known for its welcoming staff and its large and current collections of books, magazines, newspapers, videocassettes, compact disks, and books on cassette. Story time for preschoolers, after school programs for grade school children, and a prized-filled summer reading program are some of the programs provided through the Young Peoples Department. Reference librarians are waiting to answer questions during all hours that the library is open.

The Woodridge Park District, recognized by the Illinois Park & Recreation Association as a Distinguished Agency both in 1993 and 1998, has been providing quality recreation facilities and programs for all residents of the Village for the past 30 years. The mission of the Park District is to enhance the quality of life of its residents by providing superior parks and recreation services in a fiscally responsible manner.
In order to meet the growing and diverse needs of the residents, the District provides over 480 acres of park consisting of 35 community and neighborhood parks woodlands, wetlands, bikeways and open space. Recreational/athletic facilities include but are not limited to 17 modular play equipment apparatuses, 14 baseball/ softball fields, 14 tennis courts, 11 basketball courts, 12 soccer fields, 2 lakes annually stocked with fish, a multi- purpose Community center and 10 miles of existing bike paths. Seven Bridges Park winner of the Illinois Park & Recreation Associations, 1997 Outstanding Neighborhood Park Award, represents the quality of parks typically developed in Woodridge.
The Park Districts benchmark facility, Cypress Cove Aquatic Park, opened in June 1997. It is the recipient of the Illinois Park & Recreation Associations 1999 Excellence in Aquatics Award, the Illinois Park & Recreation Associations 1997 Outstanding Aquatic Facility Award and Great Lakes Park Training Institute/ Chicago Park Districts 1997 Daniel L. Flaherty Memorial Award for outstanding achievement in Parks and Recreation. The 8.5 acre southern Louisiana bayou theme facility features three body flume slides, a tube slide with entry into a lazy river, zero depth entry/lap/deep diving pool complete with diving board, drop slide, tot shipwreck slide, and water bubblers, large sand play area with play equipment, sun turf area, concessions and an entertainment stage. These award winning facilities and parks demonstrate the Districts commitment to provide recreation for its residents.
