The Woodridge Police Department was awarded $29,870 in federal funding from the United States Department of Justice for the 2006 Secure our Schools program. The program provides funding to local units of law enforcement to enhance school safety programs. The Woodridge Police Department partnered with School District 68 and Jefferson Junior High to enhance crime prevention and enforcement efforts in the junior high. The grant will provide funding to support the purchase of a camera system for the interior of Jefferson Junior High. The goal of the camera system is to improve overall security within the school and reduce the number of criminal incidents that happen on school grounds.
In June of 2006 all officers were required to participate in rapid deployment training at Jefferson Junior High. Below are some pictures from the training.
