Village Suspends Water Disconnections & Water Late Payment Penalties until Further Notice

A message from Mayor Gina Cunningham

Dear Neighbors,

The Village Trustees and I care deeply about our residents and neighbors. To protect the health, safety, and well-being of our community, Woodridge is suspending water disconnections and water late fee penalties until further notice.

We want people and businesses to feel more secure and not have to worry about an additional financial burden for a necessary resource, like water. A challenge like COVID-19 is an opportunity for neighbors, public agencies, and the private sector to help everyone.

Access to clean water is vital to public health and helps keep our community safe. Public health agencies – such as the DuPage County Health Department – recommend that people frequently wash their hands to help prevent the spread of disease. The City of Chicago, the DuPage Water Commission - Government, and the Village of Woodridge follow established EPA regulations to make certain that our water supply is safe to use and drink. Given the extraordinary circumstances right now, ensuring that our neighbors have access to water is undoubtedly the right thing for us to do.

Thank you and Best Regards,
Mayor Gina Cunningham
