Community Updates for Our Residents

The Village has seen many messages of unity and support, including many people wondering what they can do. The Village is suggesting the following to our residents:
  1. SHOP LOCAL – many of our local businesses are hurting during this time. The Village has been working with our restaurants to understand who is open for take-out, curbside pickup, and delivery. Visit for a list of Woodridge establishments providing these services.

  2. Participate in the 2020 Census – by now you might have received your Census instructions in the mail. If you have access to the internet and 10 minutes, you can ensure that Woodridge Counts!

  3. Get Outside – Social distancing is the buzzword of the year and requires people to reduce close contact and avoid groups; but this week would be a good time to get out and take a walk, go for a hike, or do yard work. Click here for the DuPage County Health Department recommendations on social distancing.

  4. Volunteer Your Time – There are many ways to help the community including volunteering your time, or donating money. Both of these actions will help those in need. Volunteer opportunities in DuPage County are located at and you can donate money, dedicated to not-for-profit organizations, through DuPage Foundation here:

  5. Share Your Thoughts – (1) locally – contact the Village Board by emailing and (2) at the state level - The Governor’s Office is in the process of collecting and responding to questions regarding the state’s response to the COVID-19 outbreak. To help facilitate that process, they have created an email address,, where citizens may send questions, comments and recommendations. The Governor’s staff will then compile all inquiries and respond with answers.

  6. Donate Blood – The American Red Cross is indicating that there is a severe blood shortage due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Visit, type in our zip code (60517) to find upcoming testing dates and nearby locations. If you are healthy and feel comfortable going out, please consider donating this vital resource. If you have familiarity with other agencies where you have given blood before, please seek out those organizations as well.
