    Woodridge Public Library is hosting exercise sessions at 11:30 a.m. on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of June, July and August. An instructor will lead attendees through exercises based on everyday movements that are designed to be performed seated in a chair. Please register for the sessions you wish to attend, or drop-in and we'll add a chair for you! June 5 at 11:30 a.m. is the first session.

  4. Save the Date - Village of Woodridge Blood Drive!

    On Tuesday, July 10th, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., the Village of Woodridge will be hosting a blood drive to provide vital support to those that need it. Donations will be taken in the foyer of Village Hall, 5 Plaza Drive. To make your appointment, please contact Karen Vana at (630) 719-4718.   5. 35th Annual Woodridge Jubilee Kicks Off June 13th!

    Come Local bands, thrilling carnival rides, an assortment of food vendors, a fireworks spectacular and more are slated for the 35th annual Woodridge Jubilee from June 13th through June 17th! The annual five-day festival takes place at the corner of Woodridge and Center Drives. Carnival rides for all ages begin Wednesday night and run throughout the event. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, enjoy entertainment, food, beverages and bingo.   7. Citizen's Leadership Academy Still Accepting Enrollment!

    Residents are encouraged to enroll in the second annual Citizen's Leadership Academy. Held over six weeks, the class provides an in-depth education on many aspects of the Village, including a review of all units of local government within Woodridge, a comprehensive review of Village operations, an understanding of the relationships that exist between the citizens, Village Board, and staff, the Village's communication and transparency efforts, and future opportunities to serve the Woodridge community. A participant from last year stated, "I have a much better understanding of how things work in the Village in which I live."   8. Summer Reading Programs for All Ages at Woodridge Library

    The Summer Reading Safari Program is underway. Kids will complete safari missions and earn badges and drawing entries for fabulous prize baskets. Teens can earn king-sized candy bars and gift cards, and adult readers can earn a modern Woodridge Library mug-perfect for enjoying coffee or tea with a favorite book.   9. Car Seat Checks at Woodridge Police Department

    Saturday, June 16, is the perfect opportunity to get your car seat checked by an expert and then go to the Woodridge Jubilee! We all want our children to travel safely in vehicles. Installing a car seat for babies and younger children can be challenging. If you have ever struggled to install a child seat - or would like to learn some tips and tricks about how to install a child car seat - then this event is for you! At this event, police officers and community services officers certified in installing child car seats will examine your car seat(s) for safety. Please join us anytime from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in front of the Woodridge Police Department at 1 Plaza Drive for a free car seat check and installation tips. There is no appointment necessary.

  14. Center Cass Community Band - Free Concert Sunday, June 24

    Come out and enjoy an afternoon of music by the Center Cass Community Band on the lawn at Lakeview Jr. High School on Sunday, June 24 at 4pm. The Center Cass Community Band is and adult community band made up of people who all have a connection to Center Cass School District 66. Led by Mr. Tom Tedeschi, the band will be performing a "Pop's" themed concert. In addition to the Center Cass Community Band, the Aurora American Legion Band will lead off the performance with some traditional and patriotic band music. Lakeview Jr. High School is located at 701 Plainfield Rd. in Downers Grove.

    DuPage County Public Works is offering a latex paint recycling program this summer. This program will allow for residents to drop off their usable, unwanted latex paint, free of charge. The hours of this program are from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, from June 25th - August 4th. If you're interested in receiving free paint, the DuPage County Public Works Department is offering free paint in 5-gallon containers, starting June 30th during the above dates and times. The drop-off / pick-up location is 7900 S. Route 53 in Woodridge.

  16. St. Scholastica Community Roll Call

    June 25, 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM

    The Woodridge Police Department invites YOU to attend an upcoming community roll call at St. Scholastica! This event takes place on Monday, June 25 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the St. Scholastica Upper Parking Lot. A roll call is a brief meeting at the start of every shift when police department supervisors meet with patrol officers to take attendance, check equipment, and inform the oncoming shift of any important and relevant information. At the roll call, you, the community members, will have the opportunity to learn from our Traffic Unit and learn about crime prevention. In addition, officers will have squad car demonstrations for children. We hope this will further engage our community to help keep Woodridge safe and highlight that strong partnerships create safe communities.
