Village Subsidy for Park District After School and Summer Programs

Who Qualifies?
The subsidy is for all Woodridge families who work full-time. Families must also be approved for the Illinois Department of Human Services (DHS) Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP).

How to Apply
The application for the Village Subsidy is a two-part process. Additional information is available about the application process in this FAQ. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Village with any questions throughout the process at (630) 719-4729.

Step One

Families must first apply for the DHS Childcare Assistance Program through the YWCA of Chicago by filling out the DHS application, visiting, or calling the YWCA (in English or Spanish) at:

Step Two
Once families receive their approval letter from DHS, they may then apply for the Village Subsidy. The Village Subsidy Application in English is available here and can be submitted to . via email, dropping off the materials to the Woodridge Police Department, or by mail. The Spanish application is also available here. Applicants may also stop by the Woodridge Police Department located at One Plaza Drive (next to the Library) to apply in person. 

I'm Approved! Now What?
Families will receive a letter from the Village notifying them of their approval for the Village Subsidy Program. They will then be required to sign off on a subsidy recipient agreement that will be submitted to the Park District with a $50.00 per child registration payment. This payment is required for both the after school and summer Park District programs, and it is the only payment required of approved subsidy recipients. The Village and DHS pay the remainder of the Park District fees.

How to Register with the Woodridge Park District
Applicants may register for the Park District summer camp program in person at the ARC (8201 S. Janes Ave. Woodridge, IL) or Community Center (2600 Center Drive in Woodridge). The Park District must receive the registration form and full payment must be received and processed by the end of the business day on the Tuesday before your child plans to attend. If you register after the deadline there will be a $20 late registration fee per child.  

Registration hours at the Community Center are 8:30am-7pm, Monday through Friday. Registration hours at the ARC are 8:30am-8:30pm daily.  As an additional note, the secure drop box is only checked at the beginning of each business day. Should you place paperwork in the drop box after the beginning of the business day, it will not be received until the following business day.  Campers will not be able to participate in camp until the weekly payment is paid in full and all forms are turned in.

Families are required to re-apply for the Village Subsidy each school year and summer term.
